- What is pyrite?
Pyrite is a type of mineral found under your foundation concrete or the concrete slab of your garage floor. In fact, it is produced by iron sulphide in crushed stone, which is used as backfill in construction.

- It swells in the presence of moisture or oxygen, which can cause foundation cracks and the lifting of your concrete slab floors. In the case of a garage, pyrite can swell and push the walls of your foundation to one side.
